BIO

Karl Jensen is a Brooklyn-based multi-disciplinary artist whose work spans art, architecture, and theater. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Rice University and a Master of Fine Arts from Hunter College. Karl has created scenic work in collaboration with Justin Peck and Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Dessner, Eighth Blackbird, and The National, for presentation by the New York City Ballet, The Kitchen, the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the Houston Ballet, among others. Karl practices architecture in New York and is a collaborator with Birds Portchmouth Russum Architects in London. He received the League Prize from the Architectural League of New York, an Award of Merit from the American Institute of Architects New York and an Artist Fellowship in Sculpture from the New York Foundation for the Arts. Recent projects include the design and construction oversight of an artist’s studio in Upstate New York, the completion of Rosemary’s Miami and overseeing the recreation of his sets for Everywhere We Go, to be performed by The Royal Ballet, London.
